Myself in Ruins

Ah, self portraits.  I have really come to enjoy this process, love that it doesn’t weird me out anymore. Since I went adventuring with a friend yesterday, I thought it was a great opportunity to possibly get some photos  of myself as well. So I brought along one of my thrift store dress finds and low and behold we came across this lovely setting. Perfect.  These photos are a collaboration between myself and my friend Rachelle.  She was using my camera, so I would set it and try to explain what I envisioned (a tripod would have been impossible here).  You did an awesome job Rachelle, I love them, can’t wait to take yours! These are definitely a bit more dramatic than my usual, but I think it’s great to get out of your comfort zone and try something new, fun to edit too!  So glad I brought my “just in case” dress.

These images will always be special to me since they symbolize this period of waiting in my life.  I’m just a girl, waiting for my prince to return. Miss you David!

Loved this place and the dynamics of color, nature, ruins and beauty. You’re such a natural! Thanks for all the tips.

Laura - Oh Shari, reading your discription of missing David and being in a place of waiting and looking at these photos made me tear up…you are such a strong and beautiful woman I treasure having in my life.
