Backyard Macro

I spent a little time practicing with “budget” macro today.  Since I don’t have a macro lens and don’t exactly want to cough up that kind of money (yet), I’ve decided to do a little experiment on macro on a budget.  This is $5 macro, really the cheapest you can get.  It was slightly windy out, so grabbing focus was extremely difficult, if not impossible.  Oh well, didn’t feel like waiting until a 100% breeze free day to give it a go.  Amazing how beautiful the dead little buds, flowers and leaves can be.  I’ve got a second macro on a budget experiment, hopefully I can do that one next week.

For these shots I used my 50 mm lens, flipped around using a little lens reversal ring.  You don’t NEED the ring, however these shots would have been next to impossible without it.
